Mechanism of the Effect
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is secreted by the hypothalamus and transported to the pituitary gland via the portal venous circulation. In the anterior pituitary, GnRH stimulates the increased secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), which promote corpus luteum formation in females and spermatogenesis in males. The released LH and FSH lead to rapid follicular growth, maturation, and subsequent ovulation.

The amount and how to use
Cattle: 2.5 – 5 mL, equivalent to 10–20 micrograms of buserelin, administered as a single intramuscular injection.
Mare: 5 – 10 mL, equivalent to 20–40 micrograms of buserelin, administered intramuscularly in one or two injections.
This drug can also be administered intravenously or subcutaneously; however, to avoid reactions and hypersensitivity in the animal, intramuscular injection is generally recommended.
