Compounds

Each sachet contains: Pure tylosin (as tartrate salt) .................. 100 grams

Mechanism of the Effect

Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic with bacteriostatic properties, derived from the fermentation of a fungus called Streptomyces fradiae. It exerts its antimicrobial effect by inhibiting protein synthesis in sensitive microorganisms.

Its spectrum of activity includes gram-positive bacteria, some gram-negative bacteria such as Pasteurella, and various Mycoplasma species.

Use case

It is used for the control and treatment of respiratory diseases caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae in broiler chickens and replacement pullets, as well as necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens in poultry. Additionally, it is used to reduce the severity of infectious synovitis caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum in turkeys.

The amount and how to use

Broiler chicks and replacement pullets:

For control and treatment of respiratory diseases: 50–200 mg of tylosin per kg of body weight daily for 3–5 days (depending on age, weight, type, and severity of the disease).

0.5 g (500 ppm) per liter, or one sachet of Tylopharma® in 200 liters of drinking water for 3–5 days.

For control and treatment of necrotic enteritis: 20–50 mg of tylosin per kg of body weight daily for 5 days (depending on age, weight, type, and severity of the disease).

0.15 g (150 ppm) per liter of drinking water for 5 days.

Turkey:

0.5 g (500 ppm) of tylosin per liter, or one sachet of Tylopharma® in 200 liters of drinking water for 3–5 days (depending on age, weight, type, and severity of the disease).
