Packaging
Vials of 1000 doses

Compounds
Inactivated (killed) reovirus
Preservatives (e.g., thimerosal or phenol)
Carriers and stabilizers to maintain vaccine stability
Sterile water or buffer solution for pH balance

Mechanism of the Effect
The vaccine contains inactivated (killed) reovirus, which is incapable of causing disease.
After injection, the animal’s immune system recognizes the inactivated virus and generates an active immune response, including the production of antibodies and memory immune cells.
This immune response enables the animal to respond quickly and effectively to live, pathogenic viruses, preventing the onset of disease.

Use case
Booster vaccination of breeder and grandparent flocks against avian reovirus to protect the chicks produced from these flocks against avian reovirus infections.

The amount and how to use
The vaccine dosage is 0.5 ml per chick. This vaccine should be administered either by intramuscular injection in the thigh or breast or by subcutaneous injection in the back of the neck.

Caution
Vaccine Handling and Administration Guidelines
Storage: Store the vaccine at the appropriate temperature (2 to 8 degrees Celsius) and protect it from freezing.
Post-Opening: Once opened, the vial’s contents should be used immediately and any unused portion discarded.
Sterility: Prevent vaccine contamination; always use sterile syringes and needles for administration.
Animal Health: Administer the vaccine only to healthy animals showing no signs of illness.
Delay Vaccination: If an animal has an acute illness or fever, postpone vaccination.
Light and Heat: Avoid exposing the vaccine to direct light and extreme heat.
Adverse Reactions: In case of allergic or adverse reactions, contact a veterinarian immediately.
Keep Out of Reach: Store out of reach of children.

Drug interference
Immunosuppressants: Concurrent use of immunosuppressive drugs (e.g., corticosteroids) may reduce the vaccine’s immune response.
Antibiotics/Antivirals: Simultaneous administration with antibiotics or antiviral medications may affect the vaccine’s efficacy.
Other Vaccines: Administering this vaccine concurrently with other vaccines should only be done with careful planning and under the recommendation of a veterinarian.
