Packaging

2500-dose vial

Compounds

Each vial contains a minimum of 4 Log10 TCID50 of live Gumboro vaccine, D78 strain, per dose. This vaccine is prepared as a clone from homogeneous plaques.

Mechanism of the Effect

The vaccine contains a live, attenuated IBDV (Gumboro disease virus) of the D78 strain.

After administration (typically orally or via drinking water), the virus undergoes limited replication in the bursa of Fabricius (an immune organ in poultry).

This process stimulates the immune system, leading to the production of specific antibodies against the Gumboro disease virus.

As a result, the poultry become resistant to subsequent infections with the wild-type virus.

Use case

Active vaccination of birds against Gumboro disease. This vaccine can be used from 7 to 28 days of age. The exact day of vaccination depends on the flock’s vaccination history and their maternal antibody titers.

Birds that do not have maternal antibodies can be vaccinated on day one.

The amount and how to use

One dose (minimum 4 Log10 TCID50) per bird via drinking water, spray, or ocular/nasal drop. The volume used will vary depending on the administration method.

Caution

Only use in healthy birds free from stress or disease.

Do not use disinfectants in drinking water or on equipment during vaccination.

The vaccine must be stored at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius and protected from freezing.

Ensure accurate dosage and administration method (typically via drinking water) as per instructions.

Vaccination should be carried out according to a regular schedule and at the appropriate age for the birds (usually between 10 to 14 days of age).

Once the vial is opened, its contents must be used quickly, and any remainder should be discarded.

Keep out of reach of children and non-target animals.

Drug interference

Concurrent use with other live vaccines should only be done with careful planning and under the recommendation of a veterinarian.

Disinfectants remaining in water or on equipment can inactivate the live vaccine virus and reduce its effectiveness.

Immunosuppressive drugs (such as corticosteroids) may weaken the immune response to the vaccine.

Concurrent use with antibiotics or antivirals may reduce the vaccine’s efficacy.

Maintenance conditions

Store at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius (refrigerator temperature).

Completely prevent the vaccine from freezing.

Keep in its original, closed container.

Protect from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

Once opened, the vaccine must be used within a short period, and any remainder should be discarded.

Keep out of reach of children and unauthorized individuals.
