Compounds
Each milliliter of Neomax 20 Rooyan contains 200 mg of neomycin sulfate.

Mechanism of the Effect
Neomycin is an antibiotic from the aminoglycoside group that binds to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, disrupting the translation of genetic messages and the synthesis of vital bacterial proteins. This action results in bacterial death (a bactericidal effect).
Neomycin is primarily effective against Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria, and it is typically used topically or orally to treat localized or gastrointestinal infections.

Use case
Neomax 20 is used in livestock and poultry for the treatment of white diarrhea in calves, colibacillosis in sheep and goats, salmonellosis in cattle and sheep, and enteritis in poultry.

The amount and how to use
Broiler chickens:
From day 1 to 2 weeks of age: 1 mL per 4 liters of drinking water for 3 to 5 days
From 3 to 5 weeks of age: 1 mL per 3 liters of drinking water for 3 to 5 days
From 6 weeks to the end of the rearing period: 1 mL per 2–2.5 liters of drinking water for 3 to 5 days
Turkeys:
From day 1 to 7 days of age: 1 mL per 2.5 liters of drinking water for 3 to 5 days
From week 2 to the end of week 8: 1 mL per 1.5 liters of drinking water for 3 to 5 days
From weeks 9 to 26: 1 mL per 1.2 liters of drinking water for 3 to 5 days
Cattle, sheep, and goats:
11 mL of solution per 100 kg of body weight (equivalent to 22 mg of neomycin sulfate per kg of body weight) administered in drinking water for 3 to 5 days

Caution
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides.
Due to primary renal excretion, it is not recommended in cases of kidney failure.
Oral administration of neomycin is contraindicated in cases of intestinal obstruction or ileus.
Avoid use in newborn and elderly animals due to increased toxicity risks.
Prolonged oral use may damage the intestinal villi; additionally, oral Neomax 20 Rooyan has a mild laxative effect, which is generally not significant.
Medicated drinking water should be consumed within 12 hours of preparation.
Keep out of reach of children.

Drug interference
Drug interactions include increased nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity when used with nephrotoxic agents and diuretics, reduced absorption when co-administered with antacids and mineral supplements, and enhanced effects of neuromuscular blockers.

Maintenance conditions
Store in a dry place, between 10–25°C, away from direct sunlight, and in tightly closed containers.
