Packaging

Available in sachet sizes: 60 grams and 1 kilogram.

Compounds

Each gram of bacitracin powder contains 100 mg of bacitracin methylene disalicylate.

Mechanism of the Effect

Bacitracin non-specifically blocks phosphorylase reactions, inhibiting the production of peptidoglycan in bacteria, which is a critical component in cell wall synthesis.

Use case

Entricid is used for the treatment of necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens or other microorganisms sensitive to bacitracin in poultry.

Additionally, bacitracin methylene disalicylate water-soluble powder is used to aid in the management of coccidiosis in poultry.

To Support Coccidiosis Treatment and Stress Relief in Poultry:

Additional Instructions for Entricid (Bacitracin Methylene Disalicylate):

Storage and Safety:

Keep out of reach of children.

Wear gloves and a mask when handling the medication to avoid skin or eye contact.

Once opened, the sachet must be used within 48 hours to ensure the contents remain effective and protected.

Usage Guidelines:

Do not use without a veterinarian’s prescription.

The product is available in various packaging sizes to suit different needs. Calculate the required amount and select the appropriate package size accordingly.

Avoid using this medication with drugs that acidify water, such as acidifiers.

Drug interference

Drug Interactions:

Concurrent use with tetracyclines or chloramphenicol may reduce efficacy, as they can neutralize each other’s bactericidal effects.

Systemic use of bacitracin may cause nephrotoxicity, and co-administration with nephrotoxic drugs (e.g., aminoglycosides) increases this risk.

In livestock and poultry feed, bacitracin is generally not combined with other antibiotics unless prescribed and supervised by a veterinarian.

Maintenance conditions

Store away from direct sunlight, in a dry place, at a temperature below 25°C.
