Compounds
Each 100 milliliters of the solution contains 1000 milligrams of bromhexine (hydrochloride salt).

Mechanism of the Effect
Bromhexine is a benzylamine compound with expectorant properties. It works by increasing mucus secretion, thinning the mucus, and helping its clearance from the respiratory tract, as well as dilating the bronchi and trachea, which facilitates easier breathing and faster recovery from respiratory diseases. Bromhexine increases bronchial secretions and likely reduces their viscosity by stimulating lysosomal enzyme activity, which breaks down mucopolysaccharide protein strands. The thinning and flow of these secretions improve respiratory function.
Bromhexine also increases cell membrane permeability, leading to higher levels of immunoglobulins in bronchial secretions.
Menthol, a plant-derived compound extracted from mint, provides a cooling effect on the mucous membranes and is used in cases of respiratory congestion.
When bromhexine is administered alongside tetracyclines, the concentration of tetracycline in bronchial secretions increases, which is a beneficial effect of their combined use.

Use case
Broiler chickens: Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD), infectious bronchitis, laryngotracheitis, infectious coryza, and influenza
Turkeys: Infectious sinusitis
Calves, foals, lambs, and kids: Pneumonia, bronchopneumonia, rhinitis, and cough
Dosage and Administration:
Broiler chickens and turkeys: 1 liter per 1000 liters of drinking water for 3 to 5 days
Calves and foals: 1 to 2 milliliters per 10 kilograms of body weight for 3 to 5 days
Lambs and kids: 0.2 to 0.4 milliliters per 10 kilograms of body weight for 3 to 5 days
Note:
For large animals, dilute 1 milliliter of the medication with 10 milliliters of water and administer orally in two divided doses.

The amount and how to use
General oral dosage for poultry:
1 milliliter per liter of drinking water
For 3 to 5 consecutive days (depending on the severity of symptoms)
For other animals (if appropriate formulation is available):
Use as directed by the veterinarian.

Caution
The use of bromhexine in laying hens whose eggs are for human consumption is not recommended.
Avoid using the drug in dairy cows whose milk is intended for human consumption.
Keep the medication out of reach of children.

Drug interference
With antibiotics (such as tetracyclines or erythromycin): Bromhexine can increase their penetration into respiratory tissues (synergistic effect).
With central cough suppressants (such as codeine): Concurrent use is not recommended as it may inhibit the cough reflex and cause mucus accumulation.
Concurrent use with other respiratory stimulants or sedatives should be done with caution.
Always consult a veterinarian before combining with any specific medication.

Maintenance conditions
Store in a dry place at 15-30°C and away from light.
