Packaging

1000-dose vials

Compounds

ART virus, strain But 1#8544, containing at least 10 log2 ELISA units.

Mechanism of the Effect

The vaccine contains killed (inactivated) rhinotracheitis viruses which are unable to cause the disease.

After injection, the animal’s immune system recognizes these inactivated viruses and activates an immune response. This response includes the production of specific antibodies and immune memory cells.

This immune response enables the animal to quickly and effectively combat the disease when exposed to live, pathogenic viruses, thereby preventing infection or reducing disease severity.

Use case

For the active immunization of chicken breeder and layer flocks, and turkey breeder flocks, to reduce mortality and clinical signs (including a drop in egg production) caused by Avian Rhinotracheitis (ART), also known as SHS or Swollen Head Syndrome.

The amount and how to use

0.5 ml per bird

Intramuscular injection (in the breast or thigh muscles) or subcutaneous injection (in the lower back of the neck)

Caution

Storage: The vaccine must be stored at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius and kept away from freezing.

Post-Opening: Once the vial is opened, the vaccine must be used quickly, and any remaining portion should be discarded.

Animal Health: Avoid using the vaccine on sick animals or those with a fever.

Sterility: Prevent vaccine contamination by using sterile syringes and needles.

Light & Heat: The vaccine should be stored away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

Adverse Reactions: In case of adverse reactions or sensitivities, contact a veterinarian immediately.

Children: Keep out of reach of children.

Drug interference

Immunosuppressants: Concurrent use of immunosuppressive drugs (e.g., corticosteroids) may reduce the vaccine’s effectiveness.

Antibiotics/Antivirals: Simultaneous administration with antibiotics or antiviral medications may decrease the vaccine’s efficacy.

Other Vaccines: Administering this vaccine concurrently with other vaccines should only be done with careful planning and under the recommendation of a veterinarian.

Consult a Veterinarian: Always consult a veterinarian before administering any other medications along with the vaccine.

Maintenance conditions

Store between 2-8 degrees Celsius and away from light and freezing.
