Packaging

10 mL vial

Compounds

Estradiol Valerate

Mechanism of the Effect

Estradiol benzoate induces the onset of estrous signs in females and has a stimulatory effect on the growth of the uterus and mammary glands, increases uterine mucus secretion, causes cervical dilation, and enhances uterine sensitivity to oxytocin. At high doses, it inhibits the release of GnRH and milk secretion, while at low doses, it stimulates follicular growth by increasing the release of FSH.

Use case

Cattle: For luteal insufficiency and induction of estrus, mammary fixation, fetal maceration, retained placenta, metritis, and pyometra.

Horse: For mild estrus without ovulation and induction of parturition.

Sheep and goats: For anestrus and mild estrus.

Dog: For abortion induction and urinary tract infections.

Additionally, in male dogs and cats, it is used to increase sexual desire, and to treat prostatic hyperplasia and swelling.

The amount and how to use

Vutastrol® can be administered via intramuscular or subcutaneous injection.

Cattle: For luteal insufficiency and estrus induction, 5 mg (preferably combined with chorionic gonadotropin). For mammary fixation, fetal maceration, and retained placenta, 5–10 mg administered 2–3 times per week. For metritis and pyometra, 20–25 mg simultaneously with oxytocin (50 IU), with treatment repeated after one week.

Horse: For mild estrus without ovulation, 5–10 mg; for induction of parturition, 5 mg administered 12–24 hours before oxytocin injection.

Sheep and goats: For anestrus, 1.5 mg with treatment repeated after two days; for mild estrus, 0.5–1 mg.

Dog: For abortion induction, 2–5 mg injected once 2–5 days after mating. For anal adenoma, increased sexual desire, prostatic hyperplasia, and swelling, 1–2 mg with repetition after one month if necessary.

Cat: For abortion induction, 0.125–0.25 mg administered intramuscularly 3–5 days after mating.
