Packaging

100-gram sachets and 100-gram and 1000-gram containers

Compounds

Each sachet of Tylosit Rooyan® contains 100 grams of active tylosin (tartrate).

Mechanism of the Effect

Tylosit Rooyan® is a macrolide antibiotic that exerts its antimicrobial effect by inhibiting protein synthesis within bacterial cells. This action stops the growth, activity, and reproduction of bacteria, leading to bacterial cell death and thereby exhibiting its antibacterial effect. This antibiotic is derived from Streptomyces fradiae and reversibly binds to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, through which it exerts its mechanism of action.

Use case

Tylosit Rooyan® has a broad spectrum of activity, especially effective against gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Corynebacterium species.

This antibiotic is also effective against some gram-negative bacteria like Vibrio cholerae and certain Spirochetes, as well as some viruses.

Tylosit Rooyan® is particularly effective against many poultry Mycoplasma species, especially Mycoplasma gallisepticum, the causative agent of CRD (Chronic Respiratory Disease).

It is also effective against Mycobacteria, Chlamydia, and Rickettsia, but has no effect on protozoa or fungi.

Tylosit Rooyan® is used for treating systemic and localized infections caused by bacteria sensitive to this antibiotic and for treating air sac infections caused by Mycoplasma synoviae and Mycoplasma gallisepticum (the agent of infectious sinusitis in turkeys).

Additionally, the beneficial effects of Tylosit Rooyan® in reducing infection levels following stress induced by live vaccine administration have been demonstrated.

The amount and how to use

Broiler and pullet chicks:

For treatment at the onset of disease symptoms (CRD), dissolve one sachet in 200 liters of lukewarm drinking water (0.5 grams per liter) and administer for 48 hours, or longer as advised by the veterinarian.

Turkeys:

For treatment at the onset of symptoms, dissolve one sachet in 200 liters of water and administer for 3 days.

Caution

Avoid skin contact with Tylosit Rooyan®.

Keep this medicine out of reach of children.

After using the medicine, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

Drug interference

  • Interaction with lincosamides (such as lincomycin) and chloramphenicol occurs due to competition for binding to the ribosome.

  • Concurrent use may increase digoxin levels in the blood.

  • Do not use simultaneously with other macrolides such as erythromycin.

  • Use is prohibited in horses due to the risk of severe and fatal diarrhea.

  • Administration of this drug should be done under veterinary supervision.

Maintenance conditions

Store in a dry place, at a temperature between 15°C and 30°C, away from direct light.
