Mechanism of the Effect

This drug belongs to the tetracycline group and is a bacteriostatic antibacterial agent that affects a wide range of aerobic and anaerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as chlamydiae, mycoplasmas, rickettsiae, and some protozoa.

Chlortetracycline inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to bacterial ribosomes.

Use case

ClomixR 50 is used for the control and treatment of respiratory and systemic infections caused by organisms sensitive to tetracyclines in poultry and turkeys.

The amount and how to use

Administered orally, mixed with feed.

Poultry:

20–30 mg of chlortetracycline per kilogram of body weight, or 600–800 grams of ClomixR 50 premix per ton of feed (depending on age, weight, type, and severity of the disease).

Turkeys:

500–800 grams of ClomixR 50 premix per ton of feed (depending on age, weight, type, and severity of the disease).

Note: The duration and dosage should be determined by a veterinarian.

To ensure a uniform mixture, it is recommended to first mix the premix with 10 kg of feed according to the prescribed dose, then mix this with 100 kg of feed, and finally mix with 1000 kg of feed thoroughly to achieve a uniform blend.

Caution

This drug is for veterinary use only. Keep out of reach of children. When mixing the drug with feed, always wear protective clothing, impermeable gloves, safety goggles, and a dust mask. In case of contact of ClomixR 50 with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.

Drug interference

Avoid using ClomixR 50 concurrently with bactericidal antibiotics such as penicillins, cephalosporins, and others.

The use of cations like magnesium, manganese, iron, and aluminum with tetracycline antibiotics reduces their effectiveness due to chelate formation.

Maintenance conditions

Store in a dry and cool place, below 25°C, away from direct sunlight, and in the original tightly closed containers.

Shelf life: 2 years from the date of manufacture.
