Mechanism of the Effect
نئومایسـین آنتی بیوتیـک وسـیع الطیف از گـروه آمینوگلیکوزیدها با
فعالیت باکتریسیدی می باشد که جذب ضعیفی از دستگاه گوارش به
سیسـتم گـردش خـون دارد (کمتـر از ۵٪)، و مـاده فعـال دارویی در
دسـتگاه گـوارش باقی می ماند.
همین ویژگی هـای دارویی باعث می
شـود که نئومایسـین آنتی بیوتیکی موثر در درمـان عفونت های روده
باشـد.
ایـن دارو بـا اتصال غیـر قابل برگشـت به تحـت واحد S ۳۰
ریبوزومی از سنتز پروتئین ها جلوگیری می کند.
Use case
Neomycin is used for the treatment of bacterial enteritis in calves and poultry caused by neomycin-sensitive bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, and Campylobacter species.
The amount and how to use
Calves:
10–20 mg of neomycin sulfate per kg of body weight daily (Equivalent to 1–2 grams of Neopharma® 20% per 20 kg of body weight) for 3 to 5 consecutive days
Poultry:
10–30 mg of neomycin sulfate per kg of body weight daily (Equivalent to 50–150 grams of Neopharma® 20% dissolved in 150–200 liters of drinking water) for 3 to 5 consecutive days
Caution
This medication is for veterinary use only. Keep out of reach of children. When preparing the solution, protective clothing, impermeable gloves, safety goggles, and a dust mask must be worn. In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
Drug interference
– May increase toxicity when used with nephrotoxic and ototoxic drugs, such as aminoglycosides and diuretics. – Co-administration with antacids and minerals like calcium, magnesium, and aluminum reduces drug absorption. – May potentiate the effects of neuromuscular blocking agents. – To prevent interactions, concurrent use should be under veterinary supervision.
Maintenance conditions
Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 25°C, away from direct sunlight, and in the original sealed containers. Shelf life: 2 years from the date of manufacture.
